EVENT INFORMATION

The Griffis Faculty Club can accommodate the full range of your entertaining needs. The Club offers five unique spaces that can be used for a wide variety of functions.

ROOM DESCRIPTIONS

The Griffis Dining Room provides an elegant space for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Dining Room is available for up to a maximum group of 100 persons.

The Griffis Lounge offers a grand, expansive space suitable for cocktail parties, conferences and special events. The Lounge is available for group functions from 15 to 150 persons.

The Griffis Private Dining Room provides a more intimate space, suitable for smaller conferences and meetings. The PDR is available for the maximum group of 12 persons.

The Griffis Bar provides an ideal setting for relaxed conversation and cocktails, perfect for off-hours gatherings or cocktail hours. The Bar is available for the maximum group of 30 persons.

The Harkness Courtyard found near the main entrance to the Weill Cornell Medical College, between 69th and 70th Streets. This beautiful gated courtyard features a tile floor and garden accents, and is perfect for cocktail receptions and special occasions, e.g. weddings. The Courtyard is for a maximum group of 120 persons.

ROOM RATES

Monday - Friday: $200 per room per mealtime

Friday evening minimum: $2,000 per each mealtime

Saturday / Sunday minimum: $3,000 per each mealtime

The minimums are only for food and beverages.

ADDITIONAL EVENT FEES AND CHARGES

(All costs will be clearly outlined prior to your event.)

Facilities Fee - A facilities fee is applied to all events held within the Faculty Club. It is $200.00 for each two hour period per room.

Labor Charge - will be applied depending on personnel applicable to the event.

Administrative Fee - 20% of food, beverage and other charges up to and including the facilites fee is added to the bill. This is not a gratuity.

Rental Charges - Applied to all events above 90 guests, which require rental of tables, chairs, china and linen.

Flowers - may be arranged through the Dining and Events Manager.

Music and Entertainment - may be arranged through the Dining and Events Manager.

EVENT POLICIES

Guarantee - Guest count must be given by 12noon at least 7 business days before your event. You must provide this information via email of the exact number of people who will attend. This number will be a guaranteed minimum NOT subject to reduction and charges will be made accordingly. We will not undertake to serve more than 5% above the guaranteed minimum. Any request for an increase in the guarantee after the 72-hour deadline will be subject to availability.

Tentative Reservations - will be accepted for only two dates at a time. They will be held for 10 business days and after that will be removed unless written confirmation is received.

Room Change - Under unusual circumstances, the Club has the right to change rooms if necessary. Prior notice will be given.

Minimum Guest Count - A minimum guest count is due 7 days prior to the event. This number can only be increased.

Cancellations **- will be accepted up to two weeks prior to the function. A cancellation made within a period of time less than two weeks but more than 72 hours will be subject to:

• The Facilities charges of $200.00

• 50% of the total estimated food revenue

**Cancellations for December events require a two month cancellation from the date of the event. Full charges will apply if a menu has not been selected. Otherwise, a $5000.00 cancellation fee will be applied to the account.

Full charges will be applicable if a function is canceled less than 72 hours before its scheduled time.

THE GRIFFIS FACULTY CLUB MAINTAINS THE FOLLOWING DRESS CODE:

BUSINESS ATTIRE MUST BE WORN BY ALL MEN AND WOMEN ENTERING AND ASSEMBLING IN THE CLUB AND DURING ALL EVENTS ATTENDED. PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:

FOR MEN- DRESS SLACKS AND SHIRT ALONG WITH A JACKET

FOR WOMEN- PANTS OR SKIRT OUTFIT OF A BUSINESS OR PROFESSIONAL STYLE

THE CLUB DOES NOT PERMIT THE FOLLOWING CLOTHING BY MEN OR WOMEN:

-SURGICAL OR SCRUB OUTFITS

-JEANS OR ANY NON-DRESS SLACK

-SHORTS OR SWEAT CLOTHING

-NON-COLLARED SHIRTS WHICH CANNOT ACCOMMODATE A TIE

-SNEAKERS

EVENT PAYMENTS

Event bills should be paid in full at the time of the event. Within 2-3 days after a member event, a copy of the event invoice is e-mailed to the member for their personal records.
